This past week I spent some time with Ashtyn and her two dogs. Annie got in trouble for knocking the trash over and spilling it everywhere and Ozzie got a new hoodie for winter time. He either loves it or hates it.
This weekend I got to go to Dallas and do some shooting and toured around SMU and other parts of Dallas. Here are some photos from recent times that I thought I would share.

check it out! FITBOMB
From the creators of a crossfit website called FITBOMB.com:
More Sobering Crap About Sitting
More Sobering Crap About Sitting
We all keep seeing reports about the dangers of sitting (and clearly, I can't stop blogging about it), but everyone keeps their butt cheeks glued to the couch anyway. According to this new article in the New York Times, most of us spend "50 to 70 percent" of our lives sitting -- mostly at work or in front of our television sets.
Is TV really that good? Perhaps. I, for one, have spent many an hour planted in front of the boob tube, gazing slack-jawed at the glowing images on the screen. But check this out:
Every single hour of television watched after the age of 25 reduces the viewer’s life expectancy by 21.8 minutes. By comparison, smoking a single cigarette reduces life expectancy by about 11 minutes, the authors [of an Australian research study] said.
Looking more broadly, they concluded that an adult who spends an average of six hours a day watching TV over the course of a lifetime can expect to live 4.8 years fewer than a person who does not watch TV.
Those results hold true, the authors point out, even for people who exercise regularly. It appears, Dr. Veerman says, that “a person who does a lot of exercise but watches six hours of TV” every night “might have a similar mortality risk as someone who does not exercise and watches no TV.”
Guess I'll have to catch up on episodes of The Walking Dead while standing up.
Think about it.
Maybe this is why I don't have cable.

Sugar no mo'
As some of you know I started a 34- day sugar detox where there is no consumption of sugar, sugar substitutes, or fruit. The 5 or 6 girls and I that are doing it have completed the first week of it and are off on a roll of adjusting their food intake. I can say that I have found a new love for veggies. Every kind and color of veggies!!! And they are so incredibly sweet when there is no other source of sweetness. Eggs are my heaven and I eat them all day every day. Pretty much. Anyway just thought I would drop in and pen a line at 5:25 this am. Feel free to throw your comments and questions at me. More to come later. And I have a new found love for the egg yolk. Used to hate it!!! Passion yolk. Nummm numm

Crossfit Hollis wod
Sunday was a day of
Remembrance for the fellow Denver officer Celena Hollis who was shot in city park at jazz in the park. Over 250 people from various crossfit gyms in Denver gathered and raised over $2000 for her daughter who is a survivor. God bless you all and thank you do much for your hard work and donations to this cause.

A little bit of summer coming my way!
This weekend was exciting and much needed in terms of getting away from the city life. Nadia, Quinn, Seth, Michael, Chris, and I competed in the Moab Red Rock Relay in Utah. It consisted of 70 miles of flat, inclined, declined, and more flat terrain of running. We started in Moab and went through the canyon, through the La Sal Mountains, and back into town again. It was around 85 degrees for the weekend and absolutely gorgeous! We camped Friday and Saturday night and started running at 9:15 Saturday morning. We finished in just under nine hours and went directly to Moab Brewery and filled up with burgers and lots of BEER after! It was much needed along with the sprinkler episode of running through the water to get clean and get some of the sunscreen and salt off of our bodies. I felt slightly homeless, deja-vu of the movie "Dick and Jane" and my joints were praising me after. It was an ice bath on the go. The trip was great fun with some great people from Crossfit Lodo. Thanks those of you who went and made it possible. Oh and the best part was that without ANY TRAINING WHATSOEVER, Crossfit Lodo took 4th place out of 125 teams!!! Rock on team! I guess crossfit does really help after all. Here are some pictures from the trip! More to come once Seth goes through the 1880 photos we took. Have fun with that Seth! but he will be alright because he drives a Prius. Named Russell!!
A little bit of summer.... not a bad way to start off a great summer in one of the most beautiful places!!
God is good!
